When a birth certificate translation is required
A birth certificate contains core personal and family data, so consistent spelling of names, places of birth and parental details is especially important. When the translation is submitted together with passports and other documents, personal data should match across the entire package.
LEVEL translates foreign birth certificates into Russian and Russian certificates into foreign languages. Tell us the destination country and receiving authority whenever possible because certification requirements may differ.
- immigration, residence permits and citizenship
- consular and visa applications
- school and university enrolment
- banking and notarial procedures
- child documentation
- use of Russian documents abroad
What is included in the translation
The translation covers more than the main text. Relevant seals, stamps, registry numbers, dates, authority names and official notes are also reflected.
For older documents or certificates with faint or handwritten entries, send the highest-quality scan available. Unclear data should be clarified rather than guessed.
Notarization and apostille
Notarization is not required in every case; the receiving authority determines the format. For use abroad, an apostille may also be necessary.
The sequence matters. In many cases the apostille is placed on the original or a newly issued certificate before the document and apostille are translated together, while other procedures may differ.
Price and timing
A standard certificate can normally be quoted quickly. The final amount depends on language, number of entries, notarization, extra copies and urgency. The current indicative translation price starts from RUB 1,100.
A clear scan or photo is sufficient for the initial quote. Price and deadline are confirmed before work begins.
How to order
Send the entire certificate, including the reverse side if it contains official notes. If the document holder has a passport showing the desired spelling of the name, attach it to help maintain consistency.
- full scan or photo
- passport spelling if available
- target language
- destination country and authority
- notarization or apostille requirement
